How did you get into Street Soccer?
I started freestyling, finding videos on youtube. Then I stumbled across a mixtape video, simply titled "PANNA" starring Jermaine Vanenburg, Edward Van Gils and Mourad Boukhari. I was hooked.
Who inspired you to get involved?
I was inspired by videos on youtube of Edward Van Gils, Jermaine Vanenburg and Ismael Hamdaoui "Issy Hitman". I then started making my own videos of groundmoves and futsal matches.
How long have you been training?
Street football for me is exactly like normal football, only with more skills. I would say I have been training since I started playing football.
Are you part of a group, team or on your own?
I'm sponsored by CALLE, they are an American Street Soccer brand.
How would you compare Street Soccer to traditional 11 v 11 soccer?
It's the same, only 1v1 situations and moments to use your skills present themselves more frequently and with less pressure on the moment, allowing you to try new things, practice new moves and develop your individual technique and skills.
Have you done any events, media displays because of your talents?
I have been on Foxtel Football Superstar, displaying skills and moves. I have also done various events for Red Bull, Weat-Bix and Castrol. I also got into coaching through Street Soccer.
How is Street Soccer different in your country compared to others?
Street Soccer here is almost non-existent, everything here needs to be accounted for, paid for, and officiated. This is however starting to change. The difference in other countries is that football is a more main stream sport, so naturally people are going into the street to kick footballs together.
How do you think Street Soccer could really take off?
Educating coaches, clubs and players about the uses of street soccer. When people realise you can develop your outdoor game, technique, skills and confidence with street soccer, it will go crazy.
