Soccer Camp like no other
Report by Joe Rychnovsky and Howard Chen for Fox News Toledo
MAUMEE, Ohio - It's a soccer camp like no other.
Tom Ovenden and this group of pros are introducing the European style of play to these kids in the U.S...
"Street soccer is a mix of a lot of things, flicks, deception, and we've been teaching the kids that type of thing," said Ovenden
"The whole philosophy in England is just going out juggling and playing with your friends. We want to bring that to these kids."
It seems to be working, with all sorts of moves, including one called the "see-saw."
"The see saw is where you take it the ball inside your feet, and pop it between your knees, and from your knees you pop it and then you put it behind your back," explained one of the kids in the camp.
Sounds complicated, but it's easy for a free-style professional like Mark Tiernan.
"Some of these are very hard, but once you get the technique, it's as easy as walking around after awhile," said Tiernan.
Spoken like a true champion who's producing more champions, for the future.
