ISSA Get Involved Project (Key Stage 4)
Physical Education Programme of Study KS3 / 4
The Street Soccer re-engagement programme has been developed to enable the delivery of Government policies for inclusive physical activity and sport throughout the United Kingdom.
ISSA Training helps secondary schools with teaching solutions to deliver curricular and extra-curricular Physical Education.
The ‘Get Involved’ Programme will cover a wide range of topics that are applicable in life and sport.
- The code
- Dreams and goals
- Taking responsibility
- Understanding our self
- What makes us tick?
- Making positive choices
- Taking action
- Making mistakes
- Raising our standards
- Dealing with pressure
- Relating to others
As we apply our Street Soccer training methods, these sections above are for children to reflect on and how they can apply them when developing skills for life as well as football.
ISSA will give teachers who work with 14 - 16 age groups a structured, easy to use tool that is guaranteed to get everybody active and enjoying themselves, regardless of experience or ability.
This package will provide solutions for Physical Education Teachers, Non-Specialist Teachers and Teaching Assistants to offer;
- Development of fundamental movement
- A well structured development programme for street soccer
- Improved teaching quality across the PE Curriculum
- Activities that help young people re-engage in physical activity
- Sports challenges for Gifted & Talented performers
- Development of self-confidence, self-esteem and behaviour in young people
- Positive experiences, which improve the likelihood of exercise habits being maintained in everyday life
- Hard-wearing, easy to transport equipment for flexible delivery indoors and outdoors in all sizes of space
- Easy to use resources to keep ideas fresh and support ongoing skill development
- Flexibility when working with individuals or groups
Without taking into consideration the excitement of street soccer, ISSA Get Involved Project has been used successfully to provide comprehensive physical education to a wide range of young people. It offers a unique opportunity for young people to develop a huge spectrum of sporting and physical skills that are highly transferable to sports and wider areas of life. With a wide spectrum of skills, young people are more likely to develop greater levels of performance and become life-long participants in sport and activity than those who participate in single sports or no sport at all.
“In conclusion, these activities were found to be particularly successful in engaging young people who may not have shown interest in team sports. They grew in confidence because this was a new activity for all of them”
