12 Week Programme
The Programme
This 12 week skills programme does not aim to replace coaching with coaching. Rather, this proposal offers significant added value. Through a high quality skill and physical development programme, players become stronger, less likely to sustain soft tissue injuries, more athletic and able to perform functional skills to release them from pressure situations.
The programme aims to create a culture that produces players with a winning mentality. The culture of any successful Football Club needs to embody excellence, and encourages players to always strike to improve. The themes listed below help to create an optimal learning environment for players, where they can enjoy learning, experiment, create and express themselves. In addition, players are continually given opportunities to develop personal skills, such as mental preparation, leadership and self-management.
Each player will receive a skills tracking card this involves a structure for players to set goals and challenge themselves to improve all aspects of their game. Through this process, they become more responsible for their own development. We will help players to enhance self-motivation and self-confidence.
Players will learn how to create and maintain high standards. There is a great emphasis on encouraging players to become self-disciplined and dedicated to becoming the best that the can be. Throughout the workshops, players are challenged to leave the comfort zone and really test themselves. By doing this, they are more likely to achieve genuine satisfaction by making very significant achievements.
Attitude First
Which is more important in sport - Attitude or Talent?
To be a world-class athlete, arguably you need both. However, think about the athletes and players that you know. Who has the talent but not the attitude? Who has a great attitude but limited talent? Who got closest to their potential?
Real winners are not just successful in their sport. Real winners are successful in their lives and careers outside of sport. In fact, they have the ability to be successful regardless of what they are doing.
Within this programme, we know that attitude comes first. Talent alone is worth very little. We want to focus on developing people first and players second. If we work had to develop the people, we’ve got a great chance of creating great players.
The Programme will cover a wide range of topics that are applicable in life and sport:
- Positive Attitude
- Confidence
- Dreams and Goals
- Taking Responsibility
- Understanding Ourselves
- What makes us tick?
- Making Positive Choices
- Taking Action
- Making Mistakes
- Raising our Standards
- Dealing with Pressure
- Relating to Others

Our aim is to help players understand why each one is relevant and how you can apply the principles within your Sport and life.
Throughout the 12 weeks players will learn some of the most up-to-date skills in the game and also have the opportunity to be creative, imaginative and innovative and invent their own moves for the game.
Traditional coaching, done according to the ‘textbook’ also tries to mould every player to play a certain way. It could be seen like a factory, churning out ‘model’ players. In comparison, Street Soccer tries to encourage each player as an individual, and develop each player as unique.
