Creative Skill Development Course
The basic philosophy behind the Creative Skill Development course is that the player is in control of their own learning. Player-centred learning has been given much lip service in recent times. When we say that players should be in control of their own learning, it means that they should be allowed to make their own mistakes and try their own ways of approaching challenges. Players should also be able to set their own goals and expectations, and develop at their own pace. It should also be the player that finds their own weaknesses, and ways to address them.

The Creative Skill Development course:
• Covers the range of coaching from novice skills development to advanced skills
• Recognises the contribution of the whole person to learning - emotions, spirit, and experiences.
• Does not impose predetermined techniques. It lets players develop their own natural technique.
• Based on the use of sound, vision, touch and kinaesthesis as learning tools
• Based on utilising a person's inherent learning abilities - discovery
• Based on the recognition that the right and left hemispheres have specific jobs. Encourage natural creativity.
• Based on encouraging players to learn, rather than giving them knowledge
• No answers provided, encourages solutions to be developed
• Questions the rules and boundaries imposed by traditional methods
• Based on the psychology of 'flow' and optimal performance
• Based on the fundamental principles of learning
• Utilises many alternative methods of coaching and movement development
Also during the day we will help you to recognise the role of imagination, meaning, feelings and emotions in the learning process. ‘Genuine learning’ has been described as more than just the mere acquisition of knowledge. In our theory, it is thought that for anything to be truly learned, it must become part of the learner as a person. In order to do this, the ‘knowledge’ that is being learned must have meaning and significance to the learner. Therefore, to achieve ‘genuine learning’ the learner must be linked with the activity emotionally as well as mentally and physically. The learner must be able to express themselves in the performance of the skill, for it to have significance to them, and be learned.
