Introduction course Birmingham 6th January 09

This introduction course was held in Birmingham for a group of PGCE students.  The course was well received by the group, pictures of the course can be found above. 

Feedback from the course...

The course was very enjoyable and interesting.  As a footballer I was very intrigued as to new methods of coaching / teaching.  I think I will take away the idea of allowing pupils to be as creative as possible and allowing them to express themselves in new ways.  I liked the idea of promoting intrinsic motivation and will bare this in mind within my lessons.  Overall I felt the session was highly engaging and I will take many points away from it.  I look forward to teaching my pupils some new skills and in turn learning new ones from them.

The course content was new to me and delivered in an interesting way that made me think a lot about how I teach and coach and also how I will in the future.  The concept of mixing dance and football gives me another tool to teach both of them with.  The underlying concepts and methods made a lot of sense to me and the tutor’s enthusiasm was infectious.  The course opened my eyes to a lot of new possibilities.
